Vikram Chandra
Vikram Chandra (b. 1961), was born in New Delhi. He did his higher education in the US. He currently divides his time between Mumbai and Washington, D.C.
He has written two books, one being a novel about stories (typed out by a monkey), and the second, a more conventional collection of short stories. The stories range from a 19th century Indian setting, to punk bands in Los Angeles, from MTV to fantasy/horror. A third novel on the Mumbai underworld is forthcoming.
He has also delved in filmwriting, and co-written a popular Bollywood flick Mission Kashmir.
Vikram Chandra won the Commonwealth Writers Prize and the David Higham Prize for fiction.
