Pico Iyer
Pico Iyer (b. 1952) was born in England of Indian parents. In childhood, his family moved to USA (California) where he had his early schooling. Later, he returned to England and graduated from Eton and Oxford.
Pico Iyer is one of the most respected travel writers in the world today. Apart from his travel books, his essays and reviews have appeared in reputed publications like Time, Harper’s, New Yorker, etc.
His travels have covered almost all the world including the Far East, South America, and South Asia. According to Iyer, it is his perspective as an outsider that has proved to be the perfect background for writing and traveling.
What makes his work engaging is that he writes the dialogs that are taking place in his mind as he travels. He notices everything, ponders, and concludes as he attempts to uncover the realities of cultural interaction, not merely at a superficial level, but what actually lies beneath.
