Pankaj Mishra
Pankaj Mishra (b. 1969) grew up in Uttar Pradesh and graduated with degrees in commerce and English literature from Allahabad and Jawaharlal Nehru universities. He now divides his time among New Delhi, Shimla and London.
He is also a lecturer and literary critic, contributing book reviews and political essays to The New York Times and the Times Literary Supplement, among others.
Pankaj Mishra’s first internationally published novel The Romantics is the story of a young Brahmin intellectual whose meeting with Western friends provides him a fresh lease in life. Butter Chicken in Ludhiana is a travel book describing the gradual yet profound changes taking place in small town India.
