Meira Chand
Meira Chand, born and educated in London, is of Indian-Swiss parentage.
She trained as a textile designer and married an Indian businessman before moving to Japan in 1962. She lived in Kobe, Japan for several years, except for a break of five years in India, before moving to Singapore in 1997 where she now currently lives.
Meira Chand’s initial novels are set in Japan, while the later ones are set in India. She was a judge for the 2002 Commonwealth Writers Prize.
