Ashok Banker
Ashok Banker (b. 1963), lives in Mumbai with his wife and two children. He is one of the few well known Indian writers who do not believe in globe-trotting but do their writing from India.
He is currently a full time writer, supporting himself in between through various writing jobs in all types of media, including market research, advertising, and television scriptwriting. He is the author of the first Indian crime novels in English, the first Indian internet novel, the first Indian web-serial, and the first Indian multimedia novel.
For the past several years, Ashok Banker is immersed in the retelling of the Indian epic, the Ramayana, in seven volumes, perhaps to be followed by his version of the Mahabharata.
