Anita Rau Badami
Anita Rau Badami (b. 1961) was born in Rourkela, Orissa. She holds degrees in Communication Media, English Literature, and Journalism from universities in Bombay and Madras.
She began her career as a freelance writer, and then as a copywriter in advertising agencies in various cities in India. After moving to Canda a few years later and completing her M.A. from the University of Calgary, she published her best-selling debut novel Tamarind Mem.
Anita Rau Badami won the Commonwealth Best Book Prize in the Canada/Caribbean region for The Hero’s Walk. She lives in Canada and is working on her next novel.
