Amitava Kumar

Amitava Kumar (b. 1963) was born in Ara, Bihar and grew up in Patna.

Amitava Kumar is a writer and journalist whose non-fiction and poetry have appeared in reputed publications in USA, Canada and India. The theme of identity is central to his works, and the various factors affecting that identity: ethnicity or religion.

He is a Professor of English at Vassar College.
